The main purpose of the role is to support Siemens Richland, MS in the strategic sourcing process by the development and execution of both global as well as regional sourcing strategies.
Works with Commodity Managers in Siemens to optimize related strategic sourcing activities. Completes Strategic Sourcing projects considering exploration, evaluation and implementation stages. Understands spend profile, cost drivers and market conditions. Improves supplier service levels by integrating agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Understands and manages risk within the supply chain. Performs spend analysis as required. Secures financial reports and other due diligence information required for evaluating and approving new suppliers. Participates in special projects and perform other duties, as required by the team. Complies with legal requirements by adherence to requirements of existing and new regulations and legislation. Complies with all Siemens policies and procedures. Works in a manner that supports team work. Completes work in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction and positive results. Ensures a safe and healthy environment by complying with all regulations, laws, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
Other duties include:
- Ad hoc benchmarking across commodities.
- SAP reporting and spend analysis exercises.
- Periodic supplier monitoring, scoring against supplier performance
- Regular participation in training and education classes/programs.
Education and Experience
• Bachelors’ degree in relevant field is required.
• Fluent in business English and additional languages would be beneficial.
• Supply Chain experience supporting manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP systems.
• Familiarity with quality systems requirements.
• Strategic Sourcing Skills
• SAP or other ERP usage experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. (specifically Excel)
