Job Description:
•
The Network Control Technician will utilize and maintain various customer computer resources, LANs, Video Teleconference systems, internet-based systems and application•
This position will support an enterprise Information Technology O&M program•
The successful applicant will perform a wide variety of tasks with respect to routers, switches and VTC components•
Respond to tickets, telephone calls, and email messages from customers and site support personnel requiring assistance with information systems requests and problems•
Interprets/analyzes incidents and problems and provides technical support for hardware, software, and telecommunications systems•
Attentive in addressing customer needs, meticulous in asking questions, and methodically problem solve with the customer to satisfy their matters•
Utilizes ticketing system to route tickets and document resolution•
Perform functional systems application administration including the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various functional applications•
Performs remote installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of functional applications•
Facilitates the upgrade and maintenance of applications in the event of a release or upgrade

Qualifications:

•
High School plus 4+ years experience or the equivalent experience•
3+ years experience with LAN/WAN hardware and software technologies•
2+ years experience with cabling; programming LAN/WAN systems; assisting verification that installations are compliant with required performance specifications; and update and maintain configuration databases•
3+ years experience in network monitoring and connectivity•
3+ years resolving network connectivity issues, and maintaining data and telecommunication connections•
Experience with scheduling and monitoring VTC systems•
Troubleshooting and maintaining electronic equipment, preferably in VTC rooms and systems•
Demonstrates use of video teleconference equipment to users•
Experience with use of Remedy-based ticketing systems•
Experience with Remote Desktop (such as LANDesk) or other remote assistance applications•
Demonstrated technical knowledge and troubleshooting of Microsoft computing hardware, operating systems•
Local travel may be required; valid state driver license•
Ability to support shift schedule is required•
2+ years customer service experience

Preferred Additional Skills:
•
Associates Degree•
Experience supporting DHS USCIS is desired•
IT Certifications related to operating systems, hardware, software, or programming (ITIL v3, A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft or CISCO certification•
Interpersonal and communications skills
